I am tightly sealed in a darkness, <br />Confined to the extreme, <br />where nobody hears me banging on the metal ceiling, <br />of the box that I lay in. <br /> <br />A coffin it seems to be. <br />Where if I try to escape it becomes hard to breath. <br />My eyes widen when I come into the realization, <br />I cannot get out! <br /> <br />I kick, <br />I scream, <br />I punch, <br />I bash against the walls with everything I have. <br /> <br />But it is not enough to escape. <br />It is not enough to drown out the laughter. <br />The lies they yell down at me from above. <br />I cannot see them but I can hear them. <br /> <br />Surly, this is the end. <br />I will be dead by morn, <br />but then the truth comes, <br />more suddenly than before. <br /> <br />I wake up, <br />sweat pouring from every inch of me, <br />by the heat of the covers wrapped tightly around me, <br />and my alarm clock beeping its emotionless curses at me.<br /><br />Amber Glistener<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/nightmare-156/
