I feel fear, <br />I feel sorrow only for myself, <br />I hold back the tears, <br />I hold my grip, <br />For I dare not loosen it a single bit, <br />I feel my palms start to sweat, <br />And feel the tingle in my fingers urging me to let go, <br />But I can't, <br />I won't, <br />For if I do I will fall, <br />I will crash to the ground below, <br />Be forever Written in the pavement, <br />That mocks me from below, <br />One by one Fingers give in, <br />As the last one gives up, <br />I remind myself to not take one breath, <br />No matter the pain in builds up don't let it in, <br />Don't give the pavement the satisfaction of hurting you, <br />Plus if you don't give in you may die before you hit the pavement...<br /><br />Cierrah Smiles<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/pavement-2/
