Dark clouds overhead <br />Thunder rolls, lightening strikes <br />The tower dark and gloomy <br />Lit up in the night <br /> <br />It calls for my being <br />Door open just ajar <br />Begging, inviting, all seeing <br />A voice from deep within <br /> <br />Falling, tumbling <br />Sinking deeper <br />Into this dark tower <br />The call of the Reaper <br /> <br />Hand on handle <br />Door squeaking <br />Am I pushing? <br />Hinges creaking. <br /> <br /> <br />Calls of the Tortured souls inciting <br />Demons and sirens inviting <br />Darkness like a cloak <br />Water wrapping around you like a moat. <br /> <br />Promises of forgetfulness <br />The comfort of dreamless sleep <br />No touch of tenderness <br />Try pulling back from the deep <br /> <br />Life throws at you it's Tempest <br />The Tower dark and bleak <br />Offers the traveller rest <br />The shelter he seeks.<br /><br />Robert Green<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/tower-of-souls-ii/
