The day we lose our innocence, <br />The day we become confused, <br />A darkened threat of ambiance, <br />Grips tight a life misused. <br /> <br />Encouraged by our loved ones, <br />To leave our natural being, <br />Following a life of reruns, <br />Ending the life of seeing. <br /> <br />Seeking long and endlessly, <br />While memories slowly linger, <br />Wondering lost and aimlessly, <br />As pain absorbed by a stinger. <br /> <br />Longing for a child’s smile, <br />Something to remember, <br />Living in a state of exile, <br />Life’s long past September. <br /> <br />The day we lose our innocence, <br />The day we change our rules, <br />Forgetting our true essence, <br />Turning us into fools.<br /><br />G.R.
