My blood boils, <br />Its steam beating against the sky. <br />Oh! if pen were a sword, <br />Then let it be that i slash at their Hearts. <br />They who heaven has given Chance to guide her path. <br /> <br />Tall, an ebony black she once was, <br />With grace of a gazelle. <br />And everyman who met her, <br />Stopped and stared. <br />But no more, no more. <br />For now she stinks, her stench Chokes. <br /> <br />Heavens! Have i not tried to clothe Her? <br />But now, she is like Adam and Eve. <br />She is naked, my country, my Nigeria. <br />And yet those men who lead her Look on, <br />With backs facing the sun. <br />God!
