My breathing was labored <br />and my saliva was blood flavored <br />coming from deep in my through <br />staying away from the battle being fought <br /> <br />I was hiding in a closet <br />In a torn apart building <br />in a kitchen next to a fuaset <br />then there was a explosion that left my ear ringing <br /> <br />It was a suffocating dark <br />and all that was heard was a bark <br />from those German dogs <br />that followed my scent through the fog <br /> <br />Every once in a while <br />i heard a scream, closer than a mile <br />then a gunshot <br />furthering there evil plot. <br /> <br />There is a terrible banging <br />and again the ringing <br />As the door flew open <br />my heart stopped that moment <br /> <br />I clung on to the inside of the closet door <br />like it was my life and more. <br />the room was full of voices and footsteps <br />everytime the dog came near, it made my heart leaped <br /> <br />I looked through a hole <br />and what a toll <br />it had on my soul <br />to see those bloodshot eyes <br /> <br />Now they know <br />were i hide <br />the plan to blow <br />this place ski-hi <br /> <br />I scurried back in terror <br />as sweat oozed from every pore <br />they shouted and gatherred <br />as all ready to slaughter <br /> <br />In hurry i reached for my gun <br />instead i pulled a pin <br />this situation got so much less fun <br />i knew this was the end <br /> <br />Bolting out of the closet <br />leaving the grenade there <br />tripping over a blanket <br />live was not fair <br /> <br />Bullets flew every which way <br />then, the grenade blew us away <br />off the building <br />as it went of destroying <br /> <br />Now there is a piece of glass through my chest <br />and i feel frozen at best <br />my throat filled with blood <br />as i remembered those blood shot eyes<br /><br />Ernesto Torres<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/those-bloodshot-eyes/
