Once the lights went out <br />I started running round circles <br />I couldnt figure it out <br />It sticks through my ribs <br />Covering my heart in frost <br /> <br />Carried away from home <br />Just dont let me fall asleep <br />i hate being alone <br /> <br />Looking for a chance to build the broken into something <br />But looking through the glass i dont seem that tall <br />How the hell am i suppose to reach anything at all? <br /> <br />And sometimes i wish i could go back home <br />Curl up in my blanket a dreams and be alone <br />It helps fight the battles inside <br />But its slowly loosing its stuffing <br />There has got to be a better way to figure shit out <br /> <br />I see love die <br />When it deserves to stay alive <br />So i lunge at every chance i get <br />Just to feel new again <br /> <br />And here we go again <br />What a shame ive become so fragile from the memories i once had <br />Within all the things ive done <br />Im stuck here wondering <br />What if i regret? <br />so i take it back <br />From those who catch my breath <br /> <br />Painting a nighmare with these veins that bled ink <br />Scribbling out my words <br />And jotting down my life <br />Spending my days in front of the mirror <br />Screaming <br />Till some days im sure ive lost it <br /> <br />Growing up isnt as promised <br />Burning all your expectations <br />It ropes you up <br />Who honestly wants this? <br /> <br />But i know my weakness found a strength <br />And my pain eventually caused <br />My search for hope <br />No matter how long<br /><br />Tamara Puyear<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/growing-pains-17/
