I am lost <br />marooned on the island on misfit toys <br />where the lost memories <br />of little girls and boys are left <br />discarded <br />once they have been used <br />once they have been abused <br />played with far too long <br />as their images fade <br />like the lost notes of a forgotten song <br />I am the wanderer <br />seeking my path in the road called life <br />as I search the reels <br />in the cerebral cinema of my mind <br />passing the windows of others <br />who seem so enchanted <br />and take so much for granted <br />children and a wife <br />I write in the drops of the healing ink <br />liquid pain <br />the leaks from my brain <br />prayers whispered in the dead of night <br />tears that fall <br />like shadows on an endless wall <br />and so I stand <br />in the shatter of the breaking dawn <br />I can see forever <br />on the empty pages <br />leaving quotes of a oath <br />made so long ago <br />tell me <br />does that make me clever <br />witty and brilliant <br />resolved and resilient <br />I think not <br />I am simply a man <br />who hears the voice of his soul <br />as it weaves its way <br />through the twirling pen <br />as I sit here in my solace <br />waiting to rescued <br />or perhaps just to be heard <br />these silent words that are seen <br />but never spoken aloud <br />beneath the breath <br />of the shifting clouds <br />here with no one with me <br />hoping someone can come to my aid <br />strip away the shades of my grey <br />find the scattered pieces of my puzzle <br />and fix me <br />for until then I shall continue to be <br />broken <br />Thoughts of a Single Man 2012 tm<br /><br />Thoughts of a Single Man<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/broken-485/
