Absent is the mind: but not my nostalgic heart <br />I think with my heart: mind and heart miles apart <br />The rule of law a must for society’s civil order <br />Give me love for my daily chaotic disorder <br /> <br />Not a rioter burning and slashing tires <br />But deep feelings within burst with poetic fires <br />Sleepless nights in awe and wonder <br />Stoking the heavenly loud thunder <br /> <br />Love me and leave me, love me again <br />Leave me once more and parade my pain <br />It has been said to love once better that not <br />To love at all like a fish out of water caught <br /> <br />I celebrate the whole of my bruised pride <br />My merry go round dizzying human ride <br />What is one more dagger piercing my heart? <br />At least I loved and in return boredom fell apart <br /> <br />Ah the poet never gets tired from dwelling on old themes <br />What is old for some is new in my revolving dreams <br />Yes to dreams in the plural to love many times over again <br />The price of pain is far less from what the heart has to gain <br /> <br />In this spirit I dedicate this poem to all hearts broken <br />From love unrealized and quietly to the hurt unspoken <br />I am an old soul who has travelled this road many times <br />At the end it is the journey that makes my heart climes <br /> <br />Love me and leave me, love me again <br />Leave me once more and parade my pain <br />It has been said to love once better that not <br />To love at all like a fish out of water caught <br /> <br />I celebrate the whole of my humbled pride <br />My merry go round dizzying human ride <br />I welcome one more dagger piercing my heart! <br />At least I loved and in return boredom fell apart <br /> <br />Words are made to be used abused and misused <br />Why not bemused my stanzas with as many as I choose <br />Like many void love affairs with a definite check –out time <br />Lesson learned I'll wait for her, the one true perfect rhyme! <br /> <br /> <br />July 22,2013- - <br />Copyright Leaking Pen 2013- -<br /><br />Leaking Pen<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/like-a-fish-out-of-water/
