As the days and the nights blended together, <br />I feared in my heart that would be here forever. <br />I went to the places I could escape to, <br />and in solitude and lonesomeness I would cry. <br />His eyes would haunt me wherever I looked, <br />His voice would ring in my ears, <br />His laughter would dance in my head like a song, <br />And I could remember the tears. <br /> <br />The days would move on, some fast some slow, <br />And I would sit here, Grasping my knees, feeling all alone. <br /> <br />I remember the day I had first met him, <br />My heart had beat so fast. <br />But inside my heart would cry, <br />For I knew that this could never last. <br /> <br />The stories they tell of true love were fake, <br />No love at first sight for me. <br /> <br />So that's why I sat there all alone, <br />Hoping to one day find he. <br /> <br />But now my story is complete, <br />And my heart beats to a different drumbeat. <br />Because now hes here, and my story is done, <br />And I hope that you too some day find the one.<br /><br />Becca Swindell<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/my-story-56/
