Brick by brick <br />Block by block <br />Many came and many click <br />To this new City people flock <br /> <br />Every city has unique history <br />Some to its strategic location in geography <br />Some to settlement at river mouth or tributary <br />This particular one begins with a University. <br /> <br />A sleepy hollow was what it was <br />A ghostly town, no economy it draws <br />No jobs no opportunity and no out-laws <br />Everything changed, when a University ashores <br /> <br />The name of the city is Kubang Kerian <br />University Hospital was the first block done <br />School of Medicine was next to run <br />Library and gymnasium later joined the sun <br /> <br />Keep walking and you will see more <br />Research animals are reared in store <br />Golf course and sports fields are there to explore <br />Where staff and students ‘fight' to score <br /> <br />The road is now packed, this city is changed <br />They are too many cars, the sight is strange <br />Many banks there are, even foreign exchange <br />Economy is booming, prices get deranged <br /> <br />Physical growth comes with a price <br />Rentals agents increase their slice <br />Folks demand, utilities aren't suffice <br />Some folks resort to their own device! <br /> <br /> <br />This poem is on the history of the physical growth of a city named Kubang Kerian, located in the north-eastern part of West Malaysia.
