Bright sunshine rises heralding a brand new day <br />Dew drops glistening on a bed of grass they lay <br />A cool breeze flows as it drifts through the air <br />Leaves dancing and floating with lots of flair <br /> <br />As the time goes by there's a calm and quiet hush <br />Birds nesting and preening in the thick underbrush <br />A solitary blackbird is peeking down from its perch <br />Animals resting quietly until their nightly search <br /> <br />The grass begins to wither under the searing heat <br />Scorching sun bears down on a field of golden wheat <br />Nature has its own reminders when it's time to change <br />Like an old fashion tune that stays within its range <br /> <br />Planet earth continues to revolve just as we so believe <br />Then the sun begins to set in her familiar place at eve <br />Closing its brilliant curtains as it slowly takes a bow <br />Always called it home then as we continue to call it now<br /><br />Patricia Grantham<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/truly-amazing-2/
