We knew she’d leave us in the Spring <br />That it was day-to-day <br />With family near and Angels close <br />She gently sailed away <br /> <br />She said goodbyes in weeks before <br />Her birthday came and went <br />She wore a crown, a smile of hope <br />Her strength was Heaven Sent <br /> <br />She told us she was not afraid <br />Her life had been complete <br />That all she’d wanted in this world <br />Had been there at her feet <br /> <br />Her courage overwhelmed us <br />And she wasn't feeling sad <br />'I’ve had a life so full of joy <br />With way more good than bad” <br /> <br />Aunt Gladys had a heart of gold <br />With story only partway told <br />She’ll tell us more as she is able <br />When we dine at Heaven’s Table <br /> <br />It's there she’ll make potica <br />And golden spudnuts too <br />Her simmering broth awaits us <br />With her delicious stew <br /> <br />She had a way of comforting <br />And as her words remain <br />She’ll dry our tears and warm our hearts <br />With strength through her refrain <br /> <br />“I’ve had a life so wonderful <br />I couldn’t ask for more <br />I’m grateful for the time we had <br />We’ll meet at Heaven’s Door”<br /><br />Holly Jamestone<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/we-ll-meet-at-heaven-s-door/
