The tree waved its arms helplessly
As the boisterous wind whistled
It seems like the arms would be
Torn off the tree trunk if it
Continues in this magnitude.

As I lay there, in between the
Sheets.
In the comfort of my bed
My mind was wondering what
Would happen to the lad who
Lived in the streets.
Who doesn't even own a torn
Jacket
With no home to call his own
No walls to brood over him

I was struggling to make ends
Meet living in an apartment but
Atleast I had a roof over my head.
I did not eat the best meal that night but atleast something had
Had taken residence in my Stomach.
I realised that I take a lot of things
For granted.
A bowel movement doesn't mean
Much to a healthy person but some celebrate when it happens
After a month without bowel
Movement
It's those lil' things that I have to
Thank the Lord for

Itai Oscar

http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/we-take-it-for-granted/
