“Lets go to church” <br />How’s that make you feel? <br />Does it make you wanna search <br />for a God that’s really real <br /> <br />Or does it revolt you? <br /> And now you’re running in the opposite direction <br />cuz obviously what’s being said cant be true <br />How can one man live in such perfection? <br /> <br />How can there be a God <br />if this world is so wrecked <br />is it all a facade? <br />Well what can you expect? <br /> <br />From this generation grown up on lies <br />who knows what to believe anymore <br />when all people ever hear are goodbyes <br />and all they see are people walking out the door <br /> <br />And when you preach love at the service <br />but the next call someone gay <br />well no wonder people are nervous <br />they thought love was here to stay <br /> <br />If we want people to come <br />then we gotta show them the truth <br />show them what the Lord has done <br />for me and for you <br /> <br />He came, not so that we could judge, <br />cuz that’s only what he can do <br />but that we can love <br />in the way he intended us to. <br /> <br />So show God’s love across the land <br />bring a smile to everyone you meet <br />and maybe we can be the helping hand <br />so that on Sunday, more people are off the streets.<br /><br />Amber Peterson<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/lets-go-to-church/
