It's our world and you cannot enter, <br />You're too tall and you'd have to stoop. <br />We crawl on our hands and knees, <br />Though you seek and you try <br />When you get too close we start to cry. <br /> <br />You buy us toys with which to play, <br />And there we'll spend a happy day, <br />Then you feed us food which we will not eat <br />And give us a bath, and call it a treat! <br />Then when we are awake you put us to bed <br /> <br />And when we are tired you keep us awake <br />With a bed-time story, oh for heaven's sake! <br />Then in the morning when we are half asleep <br />You make us get up when we're still counting sheep. <br />And make us wash and clean our teeth. <br /> <br />It's our world and you cannot enter, <br />Our world is too small for you to understand <br />It is full of innocence and blind trust, and is mild. <br />Your world has no trust is not that grand <br />You need to look at the world with the eyes of a child.<br /><br />David Wood<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/our-world-38/
