I wish I could delete <br />All the memories there are of me. <br />And just start all over again. <br />Because people say scary things, <br />Life is a gift you only get once. <br />As if death is a waste, even though <br />The universe and all it's energy <br />Wouldn't really care either way. <br />Because nothing ever really ceases. <br />Old souls who tire of a world that came too soon. <br />Those who just don't know <br />How to deal with it all. <br />Bombarded by flashy photos of <br />Things you need to buy before you die. <br />Smiling faces tainted with lies. <br />But you still have to play really nice <br />Or risk the judgement painting their eyes. <br />Puckered and contorted, <br />Not ready for every thought you ever said. <br />I cannot control these words, <br />But somebody gave me language. <br />Here you go, now you're on your own. <br />You have to stick around. <br />To live on for the people you loved. <br />Avoid the hurt and pain a funeral would bring. <br />Nobody ever wanted you drape yourself in black. <br />And I never asked for this! <br />Although I'm glad for having had it. <br />But, is nobody as tired as I am? <br />Of having to experience everything <br />Through the tinted lens of emotion. <br />Live through another day of having to deal <br />With a situation you can't even begin to control. <br />Where your very life is no longer in your own hands. <br />And aren't you ready to leave yet too? <br />Or have you not learned enough from this journey. <br />I understand a path is to be walked by one alone. <br />But we have evolved beyond mountains already, <br />Whilst mountains still overtake the sky above us. <br />Having climbed to keep a ceaseless climb, <br />Are we not tired?
