Steaming and screaming while dreaming <br />My thoughts were so; <br />Trying but dying to hell flying <br />My spirit was low <br />And nowhere would it go <br />I knew and again I know <br /> <br />Sighing in pain; now and then crying <br />I'll let them flow <br />Desiring, precious joy admiring <br />I wish my life could glow <br />But no; is joy my foe <br />Abandoning me now as before <br /> <br />My heart jogging; pain, my soul flogging <br />I knew I was to die soon <br />Gloom I was exploring; to depression soaring <br />While the eclipse enveiled my moon <br />For light, where was it <br />Which before my thoughts had lit? <br /> <br />Stolen; my thoughts of joy were fallen <br />‘twere better if I was in a grave <br />tears, flowing in consequent years <br />And no one could my heart could save <br />And up to now for love I crave <br />For to pain am still a slave <br /> <br />Loving; dreams of depression having <br />That I was failing off a baseless cliff <br />And I was shouting though doubting <br />If life would give me any relief <br />For where was light, I asked <br />Was joy from me forever masked <br /> <br />The sun was rising my hopes enticing <br />E'en though I was deeply covered <br />So this pain was just in vain <br />‘twas easy to destroy I discovered <br />For ‘tis easy to smile than to cry <br />And let joyful thoughts flow by<br /><br />Biwot Kevin<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/hymn-to-mirthless-muses/
