How brutal todays youth seem <br />Uncaring, lost without hope and dreams <br />Who is to blame? <br />Give me a name. <br />The fault belongs to us as parents and mentors <br />We left them alone and closed the doors <br />We ignored their pleas for help <br />Now look at the results <br />We gave no direction <br />We left them alone with no disciplin <br />Selfish were we when they needed us. <br />Give them some money open the door and then push. <br />We never heard them cry <br />We never gave them the love they needed to grow in life. <br />We failed the generation today <br />We are paying the price for letting them stray. <br />They feel no pain. <br />Violence breaths heavy in their games. <br />They have no compassion <br />No imagination or passion. <br />They are like zombies <br />Never maturing emotionally <br />Just look at the news and the internet <br />They have no remorse for what they do and then paste it <br />How can we help them change their life? <br />Show them we care and guide them to a new light <br />Give them your time and teach them what is right <br />Bring back the meaning of family <br />Show them unselfish love and dignity <br />Put passion and compassion in their hearts <br />So when they mature they are off to a strong start <br />We are at fault for these sad times in our children's lives <br />Now it is time to get involved and make it right<br /><br />Dimitri Jagodinski<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/we-are-at-fault-for-our-youth-today/
