Reminiscing my playful childhood <br />When I hated you so much <br />Didn’t understand why I needed to repeat things <br />Read and read, write and write, again and again <br /> <br />What always on my mind then <br />Was I didn’t like you as that <br />Didn’t get what you wanted <br />You just made my life complicated <br /> <br />Little by little, I realized everything <br />You shared what you gained <br />All the knowledge, skills and experience <br />Taught me to face the world with confidence <br /> <br />In good times and hard times, we’re together <br />Every time I could lean on your shoulder <br />I was prone to foolish mistake by my limitation <br />But you help me reach the acme of perfection. <br /> <br />You gave me serenity to accept things I can’t change <br />You gave me courage to change things <br />You gave me good sense to find the difference <br />You gave my life a meaning <br /> <br />As You brought up the best in me <br />I know now, what I really want to be <br />I longed to be you, a teacher, mentor and parent to me <br />Because I have witnessed your great part to my life <br />Between blinks.<br /><br />Chris Frando<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/between-blinks-2/
