Emotions, like a yo-yo, <br />swing high and low, <br />tears ebb and flow, <br />brief flashes of joy <br />break through my grey day <br />mimicking normality. <br /> <br />‘Time will heal’, they say, <br />‘but the scars will stay.’ <br />Memories will turn sweet, <br />the heart will start to beat, <br />blood will rush through the vein, <br />and your life will not be in vain’. <br /> <br />I wish it were true. <br />Alas, it is not so. <br />The day remains grey <br />keeping hope at bay. <br /> <br />She came to me last October <br />as I woke up from slumber, <br />spoke to me in an urgent whisper <br />of a date ? the third of November. <br />So clear was the vocal encounter <br />my faith in it will never falter. <br /> <br />I have a date with destiny, <br />a tryst with a lovely lady. <br />Will she be there for me? <br />Yes, most certainly.<br /><br />Isam Hussain<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/patricia-s-first-anniversary-11th-oct-2007/
