The path ahead is long and winding, <br />Fall and rise in the passage is binding, <br />Mammoth rocks block, tall walls stall, <br />Wild beasts do foist dread of sudden fall, <br />Invisd insects suck blood from life – <br />But I’ve my word to cross and reach <br />And take you to nest of love and warmth <br />To breed our dreams to resounding truth. <br /> <br />Half way you come and half way I cross, <br />Why half and half do not make full? <br />Mysterious pulls do stand betwixt us <br />That thrust us afar and we move apart; <br />How long to bear this tortuous game? <br />A quarter mile ahead, full mile pull-back, <br />Criss-cross passage does drain the soul, <br />But, firm at purpose, I renew endeavour. <br /> <br />I know, I reach and take you to arms, <br />Comfort your soul with love and warmth; <br />The promise me keeps struggling along <br />Oblivious of pains and disgrace on road; <br />When I look at goal, where I must reach, <br />Rough terrains of track stoop to my walk, <br />And works as springboard, my inner urge, <br />And I run, again run, in endless surge.<br /><br />Praveen Kumar in Celestial Glow<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/i-h-ve-my-word-to-cross-and-reach/
