Love cascades from my heart <br />Rushing like the rapids into the ocean <br />But it's not an ocean of love. <br />It's an ocean of nothing. <br />With every new doll, <br />Every tarnished trophy, <br />With every one of them. <br />Love disappears, <br />And dissipates. <br />And there is no hate <br />There is just nothing. <br />Waiting for the impossible <br />To become possible. <br />A time where there is just the two <br />Becoming one <br />Realizing that there is only one <br />and that the two remain two <br />No matter how many gems there are <br />No matter what words are spoken <br />There will always be others. <br />More dolls, <br />More trophies, <br />Until love no longer cascades from the heart <br />But trickles, <br />Eventually making an immediate stop. <br />The ocean of nothing <br />Floods, <br />Overflowing into a now frozen soul. <br />Then no more. <br />Nothing even disappears. <br />No love, <br />No two becoming one. <br />No more us.<br /><br />Denice Woods<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/ocean-of-nothing/
