It was like all the light had drained from my soul - <br />I never knew you would have acted like that; I just thought <br />You’d say no. <br />My heart broke in two – I was shattered. <br />I just thought you might be flattered. <br />No more colour; just black and white, <br />I just thought, you, for me, was right. <br />I never planned to give you the letter, <br />I thought you’d handle it better. <br />You can’t help who you fall in love with, <br />I wish we could - <br />I just thought you understood. <br />Gone are the days you have to see me, <br />I just thought that you would see... <br />Nicola, nothing sinister or bad was meant, <br />I just adored the time we spent. <br />I wanted to hug you and call you my own, <br />To kiss you tenderly and talk on the phone. <br />You’re everything I dream of, but never can posses. <br />If I had of known, I would never have confessed. <br />I just thought...
