Oh, how I love to wander <br />Along the sylvan trail <br />Amid a growth of chestnut <br />I breathe the woodsy air <br />Across the unbroken plain <br />Are two amazing pools <br />Lined with tufts of cattails <br />In the deepest darkest hues <br />I find myself enchanted <br />As I linger near the top <br />As down below the precipice <br />Is a sight that makes me stop <br />A thrill that sends me spinning <br />Sends tingles to my toes <br />For, spread upon the landing <br />Is the most amazing rose <br />With petals soft as snowflakes <br />A perfect flaming glow <br />That fills me with such longing <br />That makes my passion grow <br />And out beyond this treasure <br />Is a dip and sculpted slide <br />That leads down to a cavern <br />That I yearn to see inside <br />I’m sure there is adventure <br />Stitched beneath the seams <br />In hues of golden honey <br />And smooth as whipping cream <br />Just like a childhood playground <br />Such games there are in store <br />Along the hills and valleys <br />There’s so much to explore <br />I’ll glide across the ripples <br />Before I stop to rest <br />Then skim across the flatland <br />To frolic in the nest <br />There’s trees as tall as mountains <br />They’re sheathed in wiry grass <br />I’ll meander to the bend <br />Along the mountain pass <br />Then onward to the footing <br />I’ll play among the stones <br />Then start a sweet ascension <br />And explore my way back home <br /> <br />********************************************* <br />Copyright © 2013 Leria Hawkins, All Rights Reserved<br /><br />Leria Hawkins<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/head-to-toe-2/
