I, amid the myriad, <br />Of lovers...period! <br /> <br />Those who strolled <br />With thoughts, untold <br />Two went walking... <br />Without talking <br /> <br />Voices raised <br />From a bedded haze... <br />As if, caught spying, <br />Two lovers sighing <br /> <br />Waterfall of leaves, <br />By the boat basin breeze <br />Hand in glove, <br />Held, two, with love <br /> <br />Another poured English breakfast tea <br />While humming a lilting melody <br />Knotted hair, past her shoulders, fell <br />Tell tale sign of passion' s swell... <br /> <br />He built a fire, to ease her chill... <br />On bended knee, her every will <br />Without hesitation, he filled her cup <br />For she's the one, who fills him up <br /> <br />The years have brought them down this path <br />Too many counted, to do the math <br />But still, his eyes reflect her face <br />Secure within her warm embrace. <br /> <br />A couple, new...exploring bliss <br />They steal away, to share a kiss <br />And dream of what might lie ahead <br />After lying and dreaming, in a shared bed <br /> <br />I, amid the myriad <br />Of lovers...Period!<br /><br />Susan Lacovara<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/stages-and-phases-of-coupled-up-love/
