The paintings and pictures, exhibiting features <br />straying so far from familiar creatures <br />Da Vinci’s depicts a figure through poses <br />lashes and gashes, with freckles and noses <br /> <br />When faced with the world, I’m devoid of a face <br />Something horrific has taken its place <br />A vermilion shade layers my skin <br />reflecting completely all that’s within <br /> <br />Just a lingering flush tells my cognizant mother <br />And the slightest blood rush leads to well-informed others <br />The closest of kin and the worst of my foes <br />A diaphanous heart which everyone knows <br /> <br />Oh, Mona Lisa, how I envy her so <br />her ambiguous tale, which we’ll never know <br />I’m transparent as glass, yet so easy to shatter <br />My heartbeat, it blares, with each pitter- patter <br /> <br />But what do I care if the milkman can see <br />the quiver and quake, pulsing through me? <br />And everyone sees it and everyone knows <br />But to my beloved, my love never shows <br /> <br />Facelessly loving the one I am facing <br />Muffle my heart, the sound of its racing <br />Got no disguise, or convincing front <br />Love always speaks out, impossibly blunt<br /><br />Snow Summers<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/faceless-19/
