The lovemaking is so intense, but relaxed and fun <br />The emotions so deep, even though relatively new <br /> <br />The comfort level rising hour by hour, day by day <br />The knowing of each other becomes deeper and deeper, <br /> <br />The familiarity becomes more and more, <br />The ease of being together so natural <br /> <br />The appreciation of finding each other <br />So grateful for our meeting at this time in our lives <br /> <br />The surprise that love can be so exciting and powerful <br />As strong as the raging hormones of a teenager <br /> <br />But stronger.... as one has lived and experienced <br />All manner of love, disappointment, and life <br /> <br />The appreciation of love at this late stage <br />Is almost as overwhelming as it is breathtaking <br /> <br />The Aftermath or pain of separation <br />So hard to know how to part and be without <br /> <br />But so important to remember how fortunate <br />We, who have experienced deep feelings, are <br /> <br />Just so hard to find a way to deal with the aloneness <br />For as much as the love is beautiful, the separation is painful <br /> <br />Must always remember it is only a matter of time <br />Until we are together again<br /><br />Jacqui Widener<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/the-day-after-17/
