This summer it seems to hold reasons
for being beautiful
I don't know why it seems like that
But it just is

Wanting to know you more than what
I know of you
I buy flowers for you
I don't know why I did that
But I did

Looking everywhere for you
Hunting high and low
It takes me a while to find you

Seeing you relaxing in a beach chair
With a pen and notepad in your hands
You give off a beauty made for the summertime

Gathering as much courage within myself as I can
I walk over to you

You look at me
And I look at you

I offer you the flowers I bought for you earlier
I hope you enjoy them Indiana

Walking away after a few moments
I feel happy in some way that I did that for her
Like a weight's been lifted off my shoulders

Hearing footsteps behind me
You tell me thank you and that the flowers
were very sweet
And perhaps sometime soon
We will again meet
At some point
Someday
Sometime

Justin Gildow

http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/flowers-for-indiana/
