I will not take the road I see <br />For I don’t believe it’s the road for me. <br /> <br />I can see its beginning, not its end. <br />I can’t even see beyond the bend. <br /> <br />I’m not that brave to venture forth <br />To take its direction south or north. <br /> <br />It must be the fear that holds me back. <br />The courage I need is what I lack. <br /> <br />I need a road that keeps me straight, <br />Not a road that plays with fate. <br /> <br />And so I watch which road I’ll take <br />And pray the decision that I make <br /> <br />Will allow me smooth and comforting sights <br />And fill my days and all my nights. <br /> <br />I know the decision is up to me <br />To make the choice though I can’t foresee <br /> <br />Where it is my road will go? <br />The only thing I really know <br /> <br />Is whomever I meet that’s traveling my way <br />Will become a part of my earthly play.<br /><br />Edwina Reizer<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/my-road-2/
