When our eyes meet in the hall, <br />I thought I knew it all. <br />You hair was a golden blonde, <br />your eyes as blue as a summer pond. <br />When I first spoke to you, <br />I couldn't get my hello to you. <br />You told me your name, <br />Now it replays over and over again in my heart. <br />I swear the night the stars shone brighter, <br />like they wanted us to be together. <br />Your pale skinned hands I held tightly between my copper palms. <br />That summer you told me that terrible news, you had cancer. <br />I month later I asked for you hand, we walked down the asile hand in hand. <br />We kept eachother healthy, <br />but two years after our wedding you had passed away. <br />I never remarried, I wanted to stay your husband forever. <br />I am so greatful for the time we had. <br />Now your son has a wonderful dad. <br />You taught me respect, honor, love and kindness. <br />Our son looks up to both of us. <br />He still prays that you can watch over us from up there. <br />I hope you do.
