Lee Slater - Ave Luna: I

2014-06-18 3 Dailymotion

'Ave Luna', in all her splendour,
Her ethereal gleam siphons down,
Incandescent allure seeping out -
Even Narcissus takes his head from the lake.

Luna's lucid white in the dark night's haze.
Helios know not what to speak,
But lends Luna his crystalline shine
To hang down from her halo,
Gleaming down her, and caressing it gently.
If Helen's beauty launched a thousand ships,
Mankind would martyr itself for you.

Luna's words sound soft and resonate deep,
That the music of her lips will play the lute of life,
Harmoniously infusing the destination of these cherubim,
That fly from the jaw,
With new Life, and divine direction.

Mutinous euphoria...
But it is not unwelcomed. No,
Apollo embraces this elation.
He ambles to a time before this,
Where he had been less favoured,
And sensed to be forlorn for life. Yet,
The twin flame has been lit,
And his soul mate has been found.
'Ave Luna'... Apollo cries,
As his aching heart weeps for her every absent moment,
And he sacrifices himself to the reverie,
Of Luna and Apollo's envisaged mutuality.

Lee Slater

http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/ave-luna-i/
