Broken glass falls from above, <br />Climaxing the weekly fight, <br />Husband and wife; feuding again, <br />No romance to be had tonight. <br /> <br />Without even knowing the reason, <br />The two go round and round, <br />Screaming, yelling, throwing pictures, <br />As the glass falls to the ground. <br /> <br />Trying to make it work, <br />Not wanting to realize their worst fears, <br />He speaks the words of separation, <br />Standing in a pile of tiny glass tears. <br /> <br />When you have given everything you have, <br />But more effort is required, <br />Knowing this cannot survive any longer, <br />Tired of always being tired. <br /> <br />The broken glass that surrounds the room, <br />Is a symbol of our marriage, <br />Us without love; you without me, <br />Is a white horse without a carriage. <br /> <br />What was is gone and is no more <br />We must part our separate ways, <br />I will always love your soft spoken voice, <br />That still sets my heart ablaze. <br /> <br />As you move on to find another, <br />I will remain unchanged, <br />Like the shattered glass on the bedroom floor, <br />My heart is now deranged. <br /> <br />You were my reason for living, <br />Even if I was your worst mistake, <br />I lay on my bed of broken glass, <br />Never to awake.<br /><br />J R Reynolds<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/tiny-glass-tears/
