Who is that lady, high in the sky, <br />Who soars as a lilting breeze? <br />Is she an angel? I ask as I sigh, <br />The girl on the Flying Trapeze! <br /> <br />Who is that vision, that svelte apparition; <br />Our focus is fixed from beneath. <br />For a mermaid in motion, the sky is her ocean, <br />Tho' her dives grind the edge off our teeth. <br /> <br />By primrose and heath, <br />In her transluscent sheath, <br />Unclothed as an innocent girl. <br />Her aerial dance, in an instant, enchants <br />And sends all my senses, a-whirl. <br /> <br />By primrose and heath, <br />In her kingdom or fief <br />Of ether, the princess is hurled; <br />While her flight might be brief, <br />She enthralls all by motifs <br />More real than mere cut glass and pearl. <br /> <br />By primrose and heath, <br />My perfumed relief; <br />My balm in a primitive world. <br />Her calm self-belief, <br />Has it's charms as a thief, <br />Of the flag of my heartbeat, unfurled. <br /> <br />Who is that lady?
