Comes The Rain <br /> <br />Rain pelts steadily on the roof <br />Pretty obvious, it isn't soundproof <br />Showers keep coming day after day <br />Will it ever stop, or just keep up this way <br /> <br />I see on the tele that people are drowning <br />God made a promise, oh so many years ago <br />Never more will He flood the earth again <br />T'was never, He wouldn't make us mermen <br /> <br />Men are wonderful creatures, true <br />Think of all the things that we can do <br />We are also frail little human beasts <br />Some who do great paintings are called artistes <br /> <br />Too much sun and we dry to a crisp <br />Too little and we become frail wisps <br />Too much cold and we become frozen <br />Too much heat and all are barren <br /> <br />So let the rain pelt steadily on my roof <br />Then let it pass away this day <br />So sunshine can dry all the puddles away <br />Then I can look forward to a life being ok <br /> <br />James R Casey 1992<br /><br />James Casey<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/comes-the-rain-2/
