A magnificent seabird came, <br />He was a giant with mighty squawk. <br />The Great Auk lived up to his name, <br />He was great and said 'auk'. <br /> <br />The Great Auk was not too bright, <br />He had wings but could never flap. <br />They were good for a fight but not for flight, <br />So he used them to give seals a slap. <br /> <br />Men rounded him up in a trice, <br />They caught him for his feathers, <br />They caught him for his lice, <br />They caught him in all weathers. <br /> <br />So the Great Auk became extinct. <br />All because he couldn't fly. <br />Or maybe because he stinked. <br />To the Great Auk I say 'bye-bye'.<br /><br />Sebastian Seal<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/the-great-auk/
