Hast thou e'er listened to the silence of the night
Tis a sound all of its own you know
I hear clearly when beneath a shroud of distant stars
In the mystic dark, illuminated by the moon's silvery glow
The stillness is an odd sensation
Given the hectic noise of the day
Where one can sit in quiet reflection
To ponder life's questions and unpredictable ways
Oh what secrets doth the night possess
Hidden in the cryptic world of reality
Where love's gains and losses be the fuel for thy pen
To put forth, whilst the words flow from the feelings
T'which romance doth conceive
My thoughts linger in the land of shadows
Memories both fond and sad, drink from my artistic soul
Feeding the emotions, a poet needs to create
The wonder joy of poetical prose

John A.
