I think of you and suddenly feel rejected, <br />Think too hard and end up feeling dejected. <br />You poured your heart and head out to me, <br />Blind with confusion, the right path you failed to see. <br />My heart became weaker and senselessly fell for you, <br />I shouldn’t have done it, and professed I loved you too. <br />Things between us, magic that turned disaster, <br />You were with her, things should’ve ended faster. <br />Now you’ve left me hurt, but you came out unscathed, <br />You promised me you, but now in tears I’ve bathed. <br />Occasionally my head goes numb with slight anticipation, <br />A remote possibility of again sharing that elation. <br />Realistically I realise, what I hope for will never be, <br />In the end all that’s left, unrequited love.. and me.<br /><br />Jessica Someone<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/anticipation-of-elation/
