Down south in central Victoria enjoying retired life
The tall ageing man from Darwin with his shorter ageing wife
He said the weather a bit cool though around 26 degrees
In a genuinely cold climate to death of cold they'd freeze.

His wife said in Darwin tis the wet Season now and the rain is pouring down
And the stormwater drains are brimming full in the far northern tropical Town
A rainy 36 degrees of high humidity
What suits one does not suit another Victoria will do me.

In Hepburn Springs in Victoria a warm enough day
But not for two from Darwin from up north and far away
For them a day in the mid twenties is just that bit too cool
Not the sort of day that they'd go for a dip in the swimming pool.

In the central Victorian mineral springs Village people from places far and near
Come for the mineral water at all times of the year
But the ageing pair from Darwin from the tropical clime
Found the weather a bit cool for them in Victoria's Summertime.

Francis Duggan

http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/what-suits-one/
