In ten years from now I will be an old man
And ten years in time is not a lengthy span
The clock on my life it is ticking away
And time does not wait as the wise one did say
In ten years from now if I will be alive
An old second hand car perhaps I will drive
And young drivers at me their horn will blow
Shouting speed up there old fart you are driving too slow
In ten years from now young people may die in war
And we will hear of famines in Lands from here far
In ten years from now there will be Poverty Street
And homeless people will search in rubbish bins for thrown out food to eat
And young people in the park will play football
And life will go on things won't have changed at all.

Francis Duggan

http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/in-ten-years-from-now/
