I am floating in a vast darkness <br />with only a thought keeping me from falling. <br />My body is tired and wants me to let go <br />but my mind is restless to see you. <br />The someone that I can trust with my life, <br />that someone who is leading me into the darkness. <br />Each step leads to the darker part of the world I know, <br />each step feeds the fear that I feel rising. <br />I walk with no hestitation for my trust in you is blind, <br />I would let you lead me to the firey pits of Hell. <br />Just as we reach the end of the darkening tunnel <br />my mind creates a void of thought. <br />A thought that this is wrong, <br />that I deserve to exist. <br />So I walk slower to create time to escape, <br />the darkness fading little to reveal the light beneath. <br />The someone who I can trust has tested me. <br />I have passed and I am allowed to live. <br />The test to see if I deserve to be an individual <br />not to conform to someone else's ideal. <br />Not to be lead to doom, down a path I don't want to go. <br />I control my destiny, and the someone that I trust has shown me that. <br />Forever more shall I trust not blindly, but see them for their valued reliability and ablity to come through. <br />All thanks to the someone who I can trust.<br /><br />Cait Whisler<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/someone-who-i-can-trust/
