Hand to Hand Hearts Unshaken <br /> <br />If there is a way for me to fashion upon you <br />a drapery <br /> <br />it shall be clasped at your soft neckline <br />with my gentle stroke <br />soft folds <br />winding <br />your body full <br />gentle mouth breezes <br />soothing <br />velvet tones vibrant <br />years still resounding <br />hearts still pounding <br />eyes still flash <br />lips caressing <br />gentler than they used to <br />yet deeper than they used to; <br />meaningful; <br /> <br />Wisdom is what life teaches <br />joy is the hearts realm <br />passion rises body born <br />all three <br />still reside here <br />each other's comfort <br /> <br />You've soothed my rough edges <br />taught me calm <br />I like to think I shared those secrets <br />love and trust brings <br />together we <br />stand now side by side <br />amid wedding invitations <br />bright digital videos <br />beside sepia photos <br /> <br />love still remains <br />for those present <br />and those departed. <br /> <br /> <br />Our bodies made <br />children and memories <br />renewed life year by year <br />realizing that in the end <br />all each of us have <br />is each other <br />forever bound; <br /> <br />caterwauling sometimes <br />tears of joy <br />those of pain <br />but all <br />ours <br />through sweet spring times <br />warmest winters <br />red nights <br />and golden suns <br />conflict and resolution <br />each there for the other <br />against storm and trial <br />against wily <br />gale-force winds <br />we endured <br />sustained <br />that magic in our hearts <br />a gift <br />a miracle. <br /> <br />We face now <br />our tomorrows <br />bound <br />by paths taken <br />still <br />side by side <br />hands clasped <br />unshaken.<br /><br />Lonnie Hicks<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/hand-to-hand-hearts-unshaken/
