If man would see the world at large <br />Would see the true report <br />Perhaps we’d see the one in charge <br />Is not the one who ought <br /> <br />We’d see much more with Christ as guide <br />If self would bend the knee <br />We’d feel conviction deep inside <br />The truth would make us free <br /> <br />We’d see our neighbour, as we should <br />We’d see our heart of stone <br />We’d see the cross and Jesus’ blood <br />And know we’re not our own <br /> <br />We’d see the reason why we live <br />Why Jesus came and died <br />We’d see in life we’ve much to give <br />How much the devil’s lied <br /> <br />How truth he’s wrapped in veil and shroud <br />How twisted is our sight <br />How he seduces man and crowd <br />And robbed us of God’s light <br /> <br />We’d see life’s journey plain and true <br />A crossing of the ways <br />We’d see what’s right and wrong to do <br />And how to live our days <br /> <br />We’d see the depths to which most fall <br />The heights in Christ to scale <br />The choice that’s free to one and all <br />To win or yet to fail <br /> <br />It’s strange how truth we yet perceive <br />Is God to understand? <br />This life’s a trial, yet who’ll believe? <br />If not in Jesus’ hand<br /><br />Michael P.
