The Hairy Bear

The hairy bear is a scary bear
And dwells amidst the palms.
He picks his teeth with his knife and fork
And hasn't many charms.
Should you perchance to walk
Through bushes shrubs and trees.
Stay silent as you pass the palms
In case he hears or sees.
You may feel your neck hairs rise
And sense his red eyes following you.
And as you pass close by the palms
He leaps out with a BOO!
He really wants to scare you
to make you run and hide.
From his fiery eyes and flashing teeth
And jaws all open wide.
But the hairy bear, the scary bear
Isn't all that bad.
For truth to tell, he's cowardly
It's really very sad.
What he's really scared of
Is not the tiger or giraffe.
But people who tell funny jokes,
To make him laugh and laugh.
So if you go out to the woods,
A joke book wouldbe dandy.
But best of all a feather
willcome in really handy.
When a scary bear starts laughing
He starts to lose his hair.
For when he shakes it all falls out
until he's nearly bare.
He gets all hot and bothered
and is not at all impressed,
by the thought of people seeing him
in his shorts and undervest.
So don't forget, next holidays
When it's warm and sunny weather.
Be ready for the scary bear
With with a joke book and a feather.

Adrian Yates.

Adrian Yates

http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/the-hairy-bear/
