Walking on that green hill one day, <br />I fear I had but lost my way. <br />With sorrow immersed too deep within my heart, <br />In this world I felt, I could no longer play my part. <br />When I asked of who should care, <br />I felt your forgiving and understanding stare. <br />The grace you filled me with out there, <br />I wonder if I rightly ever should deserve. <br /> <br />When at times I have been tested, <br />Too weak I find, too easily hate invested. <br />I try to turn the other cheek, <br />And your forgiveness I often seek. <br />The lessons of life that come and go, <br />I have learnt are simply what you sow! <br />Great joy I have learnt to think but of the best, <br />When I lay the devil and his ways to rest. <br /> <br />While I know you are always near, <br />I selfishly always want you here! <br />Often when I have the most to fear, <br />Is when I learnt to hold you dear. <br />But I have now grown enough to learn, <br />Your love and gifts must first be earned. <br />How easy things have seemed since then, <br />Now that I am since, no longer ten!<br /><br />Mad Gone<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/amazing-grace-16/
