I am grateful for having been granted, <br />This life, such as it may be, <br />The simplest of things still make me enchanted <br />But I know there’s much more, than the little I see. <br /> <br />A new born child grips your finger, with tiny baby hands, <br />And later when it smiles, and shows it understands, <br />That you will always be there, no matter what befalls, <br />And when the child becomes Adult, it’s that moment one recalls. <br /> <br />Life is made up of moments like these, <br />So is there a price you must pay for it please? <br />You have to give, before you can take, <br />And it’s yourself that you give, and for your own sake <br /> <br />The sum of all happiness, is human interaction, <br />But the only way it works is if it’s selfless benefaction, <br />If aims are materialistic your rewards you will receive, <br />But happiness it will not buy do not yourself, deceive.<br /><br />Damian Cranney<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/can-i-buy-some-happiness-please/
