There was sidewalk well in front of her. <br />Lots of grass on a higher plane. <br />She could have kept her feet dry, <br />But stepped in a puddle just the same! <br /> <br />Her black hair in a bun on top. <br />She stood about just four feet tall. <br />Her feet stood in a puddle, <br />In her hand a parasol. <br /> <br />You could see waves in the water <br />As she slowly trudged around. <br />The parasol held out in front of her <br />As the rain came splashing down. <br /> <br />The parasol had an ocean theme. <br />Colorful print of mostly blue. <br />Fish swam on it in images, <br />The dress she wore matched it too! <br /> <br />Her face turned toward the camera. <br />Forever frozen now in time. <br />But her brown eyes and her parasol, <br />From it’s beauty tore this humble rhyme!<br /><br />Robert Edgar Burns<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/girl-with-blue-parasol/
