It is a place etched in my memory <br />And has been my entire life <br />Grandpa’s farm was like my home too <br />Along with grandma, grandpa’s wife <br /> <br />I remember walks down to the creek <br />With grandpa on a sunny day <br />Listening to the many things <br /> That grandpa used to say <br /> <br />“What was it like when you were a boy? ” <br />I would often say to him <br />And then I’d listen to every story <br />For each one was a delightful gem <br /> <br />Grandpa used that old rusty lock <br />For he kept his home secure <br />The boards grew old, paint chipped off <br />But for so many years they endured <br /> <br />The home is gone now but, you know? <br />It always had so much charm <br />Yes, etched in my mind forever <br />Are memories of Grandpa’s farm!<br /><br />Marilyn Lott<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/grandpa-s-farm/
