Car bomb in Syria's Hama province kills 34 - state news

A huge crater marks where the car bomb exploded killing dozens of Syrians.<br/> <br />Residents surveyed the damage in shock, tending to more than 50 people wounded in this attack in Hurra -- a government controlled village in Hama province.<br/> <br />The state news agency blamed the bombing on rebels fighting to overthrow President Bashar al-Assad.<br/> <br />. (SOUNDBITE) (Arabic) UNIDENTIFIED MAN, SAYING:<br/> <br />"We told them that terrorism will not scare us, even if they killed innocent children with their explosions. We will go fight them and destroy their terrorism."<br/> <br />Syria's conflict began in March 2011 as peaceful protests but has turned into civil war, pitting government forces against rebel factions.<br/> <br />At least 160,000 people have been killed in violence like this, while two and a half million have fled.
