The child was riding a tricycle near his house in California, when he was suddenly attacked by a neighbour's dog, which bit his leg and tried to pull him off the bike. <br />At almost the same time the family cat lept into action jumping on the dog and chasing it off, before it could inflict any further injuries on the boy. <br />The child sustain various bite marks, which required stitches, but his father Roger Triantafilo, who posted the video on YouTube said, "thankfully, my son is fine!" <br />The eight-month-old Labrador-Chow mix dog, has reportedly been surrendered by its owners to police in Bakersfield. It was put in quarantine after the attack on Tuesday and will be destroyed. <br />The cat has since been honoured at a minor league baseball game.
